Environment and Ethics Lover Jaymanbhai Shah passes away

    Blog Type:

After a prolonged illness, Jaymanbhai Shah - a person who held highest ethics, a lover of environment and someone who had real positive influence on me passed away yesterday on 20th April night- He was my neighbor in my old place Rameshwar Apts, Sola Road.

As an environmentalist and ethics lover Jaymankaka was a very simple but strong person.

    • He always took the bus to office at Kalol when working for GEB. Never drove personal vehicle when not needed
    • He never took bribe from anyone during his lifetime. Never did any favors. Never asked for favors. Even during his last days when he could not shave or go outside for hair cutting, he did not ask for help. Darshnamasi once asked me if I knew of any barber who can come home and help with his needs and I arranged one the same day. Jaymankaka never would have asked for it. He always preferred to do things himself
    • He was great lover of trees. While Ahmedabad is fast turning into concrete village, I have seen him in my childhood that Jaymankaka would daily spend 1 hour taking care of trees outside our Apartment building

In last 2 years, Jaymankaka kept losing his speech and mobility. He could hardly walk around. He was so much keeping high personal standards in simple living that anyone around him would be inspired. It was really disheartening to see such a gem of a person suffer in life like the way he did for his last 2 years.

In my school, college days, I used to play at his house and many times I would even eat at Darshnamasi's house.

He was best friend of my Dad. We sure will miss Jaymankaka. His way of living has been an inspiration to me and I've followed somethings that I could. This news was shocking but I can't add in words how much we all are going to miss him.

May his soul rest in peace.
